The Mobile Food Pantry, a vital initiative of the Southeast Missouri Food Bank, serves the Jackson, MO area by providing essential food assistance to those in need. Annually, over 300 mobile food pantry events are organized in collaboration with local businesses, churches, and civic organizations across a 16-county region, ensuring that nutritious food reaches our community members effectively. During these events, we transport diverse food items directly to neighborhoods, where caring volunteers facilitate distribution to families facing food insecurity. Each household can receive one box of food, with a maximum of two boxes per vehicle for different households, promoting a fair distribution. We encourage those requiring emergency food to visit our mobile pantry events, which are primarily drive-through to enhance convenience and safety. To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend that visitors clear space in their vehicles and come prepared with containers to carry their food. Together, we strive to alleviate hunger and empower our neighbors in Jackson and beyond.
