Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers a unique opportunity for immersive learning at the picturesque Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. With no tuition fees, we ensure accessibility to vital organic food system education that promotes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our Fellows engage in hands-on experiences, including cultivating diverse crops, leading educational initiatives in health care, maintaining community gardens, and enriching school programs with food and ecological literacy. Over six months of intense training followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits to enhance access to healthy foods, support farmers markets, and inspire future cohorts. Applications are open until March for experiences running from May to October, making a tangible impact in the community.
