Tina Villalobos

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MSW

Clayton, MO US
Tina Villalobos is a compassionate Clinical Social Worker and Therapist, holding an MSW and LCSW, who specializes in supporting preteens, teens, adults, and elders facing challenges related to eating disorders, negative body image, and poor relationships with food and exercise. Many of her clients are often referred by their weight management physicians when mental health struggles impede their medical treatment. Tina brings extensive experience in addressing issues surrounding addiction, trauma, abuse, neglect, self-harm, adoption, and family conflict. She is particularly dedicated to assisting teens as they navigate critical aspects of their identity, including sexuality and gender, as well as managing anxiety, depression, and peer relations. Tina believes that the symptoms her clients present are indicators of deeper emotional and mental struggles that can be difficult to articulate. She views the therapeutic relationship as a safe space to explore these facets of self and aims to guide clients toward more hopeful and fulfilling lives while fostering a deeper understanding of themselves. After completing her education at Washington University, she further honed her skills through the Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Program at the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute and has pursued additional training in the Adult Psychoanalytic Program. Additionally, Tina is trained and supervised in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which enrich her therapeutic practice.
