The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Traverse City, MI, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of food advocates by providing a transformative educational experience that focuses on creating a just food system. This Fellowship is designed to empower individuals by offering tuition-free training in organic agricultural practices, food literacy, and community engagement. Fellows participate in a six-month immersive program at the Allegheny Farm, where they gain hands-on experience in diversified crop production, community gardens, and innovative health education. Following their training, participants will engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to promote food access, support farmers markets, and foster community food initiatives. By integrating environmental and social justice principles into their work, the Fellowship strives to build healthier and more equitable food systems in the region. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October.
