Darin Youngs

Darin Youngs is a dedicated counselor with over 20 years of experience in pastoral counseling, along with a substantial involvement in military chaplaincy, grief counseling, and substance use therapy. His background also includes serving as a college professor, where he taught courses on communication, conflict resolution, and more. Darin is skilled in individual, couple, and family therapy, effectively addressing a diverse range of mental health concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, end-of-life counseling, veterans' issues, forgiveness work, spirituality, resilience, and both premarital and marital therapy. His primary counseling approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Positive Psychology, frameworks that allow him to help clients gain clarity about themselves, facilitating meaningful change and growth. Darin considers it a privilege to accompany clients on their journey to wholeness. He has been happily married for 27 years to his wife, Patricia, and is a proud father to three adult sons. Currently, Darin is pleased to serve clients as part of the Thriveworks family in the Kalamazoo area and also offers sessions via telehealth.
