Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Port Huron, MI US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Port Huron, MI, champions a transformative approach to food assistance and community health education. We are dedicated to training and empowering Fellows who become proactive advocates for a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Our program emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm, where Fellows engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, leading educational sessions in innovative health care, and supporting local farmers' markets and community gardens. By promoting food literacy and enhancing access to nutritious foods, we aim to strengthen community-based food systems. With no tuition fees, we ensure that this vital training is accessible to all passionate individuals. Selected Fellows participate in a comprehensive six-month residency followed by a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in partnership with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March, and the Fellowship runs from May to October.
