Our Lady of Guadalupe Hispanic Mission, formerly a cultural cornerstone in Port Huron, served the local Hispanic community for over 60 years, founded in 1953 by the Archdiocese of Detroit. Although the Mission closed in 2017, its legacy endures through the newly-formed Hispanic Alliance of Southeast Michigan, which aims to fulfill the community's need for culturally focused services. The collaboration with Literacy and Beyond's 2GEN Learning Center at 3110 Goulden St. continues to provide vital resources, fostering unity and pride in Hispanic culture. This organization stands as a response to the significant local Hispanic population, helping to overcome barriers like language and cultural disconnects. Engage with the range of support services available in the community to empower and enrich lives.
