Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Marquette, MI US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Marquette, MI, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders in the food justice movement. Through an immersive six-month fellowship at Allegheny Farm, participants receive hands-on training in sustainable agriculture and organic food systems, with a focus on social, environmental, and economic equity. This program empowers Fellows to advocate for community-based solutions by growing and distributing diverse crops, supporting local farmers markets, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings. Our mission extends beyond the fellowship; after their training, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year where they collaborate with regional non-profits to implement innovative food assistance strategies and enhance access to healthy foods. We believe in making this vital education accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition. Applications are welcomed each year until March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
