At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Clio, MI, we dedicate ourselves to training and empowering individuals to become advocates for a just food system that values social, environmental, and economic equity. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, our Fellowship offers comprehensive organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Throughout a six-month immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows gain hands-on knowledge while collaborating on initiatives such as growing and distributing diverse crops, maintaining community gardens, and implementing educational programs focused on food and ecological literacy. Following this foundational training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, working alongside regional non-profits to apply their skills and support local food initiatives. By fostering mentorship, encouraging innovative health care education, and enhancing access to healthy foods through farmers markets and community coalitions, we strive to create a more equitable food landscape in our community and beyond. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
