At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Alpena, MI, we are dedicated to cultivating a just food system through hands-on education and advocacy. Our program empowers individuals to become impactful educators and advocates for socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable practices. We provide a tuition-free fellowship that includes immersive training in organic food systems, giving participants the tools they need to thrive. Through our experiential six-month residency, fellows engage in diverse projects such as growing and distributing crops, running community gardens, and promoting food literacy in local schools. Additionally, our fellows benefit from a Community Action Year, where they implement their skills with regional non-profit partners and contribute to vital community initiatives. We believe that everyone deserves access to healthy food, and we are committed to fostering change in our local food landscape. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship experience taking place from May to October.
