Grocery Assistance Program (GAP)

The Grocery Assistance Program (GAP) in Takoma Park, MD, is dedicated to providing vital food assistance for individuals who are unable to shop for themselves. Through a compassionate network of volunteers, GAP ensures that clients receive not only the groceries they need but also the support to help them maintain their independence at home. Clients only pay for the groceries purchased by their assigned volunteer, and there is absolutely no charge for the grocery shopping and delivery service itself. Our volunteers are committed to shopping, delivering, and even assisting in putting groceries away if necessary, making it a seamless experience for those who receive home-delivered meals and others who are aging in place. We are here to help bridge the gap between need and access to healthy food options in our community.
