PHD

Silver Spring, MD US
Cynthia Post, PhD, is dedicated to guiding individuals through the often overwhelming journey from confusion to clarity and self-awareness. She understands that a trusting client-therapist relationship is the cornerstone of significant change, allowing clients to embrace new possibilities and start to reimagine their sense of self. Cynthia approaches therapy as a process of reorganizing the internal landscape, where outdated beliefs can be released to make way for healthier self-perceptions. She has a particular passion for working with older adolescents transitioning into adulthood, as well as women of all ages, including those who have faced childhood abuse. Cynthia also has a strong focus on family dynamics, couples therapy, divorce, and the complexities of step-family relationships. Her diverse training in psychodynamic therapy, family therapy, and self-psychological approaches enables her to effectively address a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. With empathic curiosity and acceptance, Cynthia fosters an environment where meaningful change can begin to flourish.
