Christine Vara

LCSW-C

Silver Spring, MD US
Christine Vara, LCSW-C, provides compassionate therapy for individuals of all ages, including preteens, teens, and adults. She deeply understands the exhaustion that comes from feeling caught in cycles of self-criticism, strain in relationships, and the quest for perfection. With a focus on the whole person, Christine offers a safe space where clients do not have to suffer in silence or leave any part of themselves behind. She recognizes that identities intersect with struggles and strengths, meeting clients wherever they are on their journey. Whether one is beginning their path to recovery from eating disorders, trauma, or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Christine believes recovery is not only possible but achievable through collaboration. Utilizing evidence-based interventions, she empowers her clients to connect authentically with others, tolerate emotions, engage with situations and relationships differently, rediscover values and purpose, and cultivate a life worth living that fosters thriving rather than merely striving. Christine has extensive experience working with families, adolescents, and adults in specialized treatment settings focused on eating disorders, trauma, OCD, and substance use, as well as providing support for individuals who are trans, non-binary, and identify within the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Through her warm and relational approach, she aims to help her clients nourish their bodies and minds, alleviating worries about 'doing it right.'
