Athena Morrow

Athena Morrow is a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 30 years of experience in the field. Athena's practice is centered on supporting individuals whose lives are affected by chronic or life-threatening illnesses, as well as the caregivers of these individuals. She creates a safe and trusting environment where clients can explore the stressors they face and discover healthier coping mechanisms for the changes in their lives. With a focus on trauma related to chronic illness, Athena guides her clients through the journey of honoring their desires while addressing their fears, empowering them to make self-affirming choices. Through her therapeutic approach, clients learn to navigate the intricacies of self-discovery and self-acceptance. In addition to grief and chronic illness, she adeptly addresses a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, addiction, and relationship challenges. Athena earned her Masters in Clinical Counseling from Tufts University in 1982 and has been licensed in the State of Maryland since 1991. As a Maryland-certified Clinical Supervisor, she has inspired and guided many young therapists toward achieving their licensing credentials, further enriching the mental health community.
