At the International Rescue Committee in Oxon Hill, MD, we are dedicated to empowering refugees, asylees, survivors of human trafficking, and displaced individuals to thrive in their new lives in America. We offer comprehensive support aimed at addressing immediate and long-term needs, including furnished housing assistance, help with rent, access to healthcare, and nutritious food resources. Our programs also include English language classes, skills training in job readiness, computer use, and financial literacy, ensuring that all families have the tools they need to succeed. Additionally, we provide education opportunities for children, social services, and legal assistance for residency and citizenship. From the moment refugees arrive, our compassionate case workers and volunteers are there to welcome them at the airport, facilitating a smoother transition into their new community.
