Mira Mary Tessman, LCPC, understands that beneath all disappointments, losses, and heartbreaks, we all yearn to be valued for who we are, accepted for how we feel, and respected for what we think. She encourages her clients to cultivate present moment awareness and self-compassion, particularly during painful difficulties and challenging life circumstances that often perpetuate habitual patterns of reaction. While fear and doubt may obscure one's perspective, Mira works collaboratively with individuals to develop strength-based skills and capacities for navigating life's challenges. She assists in accessing inner wisdom to foster trust, balance, clarity, and connection. Utilizing a mindfulness-based approach, Mira provides skills and tools to help loosen the grip of overwhelming thoughts and alleviate worries about the future, as well as soothe feelings of regret and sorrow from the past. Through learning to live in present moment awareness, her clients find empowerment to embrace their lives with greater acceptance, aliveness, and peace. With extensive training in Mind-Body Medicine, CBT, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, meditation, and yoga therapy, alongside her experience in private practice, clinics, schools, and psychiatric wards, Mira has honed a diverse set of clinical skills that effectively alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, attention challenges, grief, and relationship issues.
