Emergency Meal Units

Emergency Meal Units, operated by the Good News Community Kitchen in Hyattsville, MD, is dedicated to offering urgent food assistance to families facing food insecurity. Our program provides essential dry goods that are designed to meet basic nutritional needs, including a 1lb bag of rice, two cans of beans, and a 1lb bag of whole grain oatmeal—enough to support families during challenging times. We invite families in need to fill out our online form to request an emergency meal unit, ensuring they can receive a meal kit bi-weekly after registration. A valid state-issued identification is required to facilitate the process, helping us quickly provide the support necessary to combat food scarcity in our community.
