Steven Crites

Steven Crites, MS, LCPC, is a dedicated counselor who specializes in helping clients navigate the challenges surrounding alcohol and drug abuse, as well as co-occurring mental health issues, particularly depression and anxiety. His clients often share a common desire to cease substance consumption and address the underlying mental health concerns fuelling their distress. Steven values characteristics such as honesty, open-mindedness, and a sincere willingness to explore personal issues, which contribute to a trusting therapeutic relationship. As a dual diagnosis counselor, he uniquely addresses both substance use and mental health disorders simultaneously, beginning with an emphasis on discontinuing alcohol or drug use while simultaneously investigating the mental health challenges at hand. Drawing from his background as a retired military member and airline pilot, Steven deeply understands the pressures that can stem from various professions, including those associated with DUIs or failed urinalysis tests. His experience as a veteran enables him to relate to the stress of transitioning back to civilian life, providing valuable insight and support to those in need.
