Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA)

The American Legion Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) program in Columbia, MD, is dedicated to providing crucial support to families of active duty members and veterans through cash grants for their minor children. Our mission is to help families maintain stability during challenging times by offering assistance for essential needs such as shelter, food, utilities, and health expenses. Eligible families can receive a one-time non-repayable grant of up to $1,500 to ensure that their children are cared for and supported. Each application is carefully reviewed to confirm legitimate family needs and ensure that all other assistance resources have been explored.
