At the Howard County Food Bank in Columbia, MD, we are dedicated to providing immediate food assistance to families in need, ensuring access to fresh, nutritious options that empower individuals to thrive. Our family-choice shopping model allows clients to select food items similar to a grocery store experience, featuring fresh produce, dairy, frozen meats, bakery goods, canned and boxed staples, as well as essential health products like feminine hygiene items, diapers, and allergen-friendly foods. Families can shop twice a month and receive support in applying for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), alongside access to valuable resources in energy assistance, housing, and early childhood education through Head Start and Prekindergarten programs. Our mission is to foster a healthier community through compassionate care and practical support, alleviating hunger and enhancing the quality of life for all who visit us.
