Refugee Resettlement

In Bethesda, MD, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is dedicated to empowering refugees, asylees, victims of human trafficking, and survivors of torture as they begin their new lives in America. Our comprehensive Refugee Resettlement program focuses on providing essential support, including furnished homes, rent assistance, health care, and access to nutritious and affordable food. We offer English language classes and help individuals build vital job skills, along with financial literacy and education opportunities for their children. Our caring case workers and volunteers are there from the moment refugees arrive, ensuring a warm welcome at the airport and facilitating a smooth transition into their new communities, including offering social services and legal assistance for residency and citizenship needs.
