Sarah Keenan

Sarah Keenan is a compassionate and experienced Clinical Social Worker and Therapist, holding the LICSW credential. She understands that beneficial therapy flourishes within a strong relationship between the therapist and client, allowing individuals to feel seen and understood. With a dedication to fostering a nurturing environment, Sarah excels at building warm, respectful connections that promote healing, especially for clients identifying with non-dominant cultural identities. As an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, she strives to create a welcoming space where all clients can feel safe to explore their authentic selves. With over a decade of expertise working with teens and adults, Sarah has successfully guided clients through challenges including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, and identity exploration. Her integrative approach draws from attachment theory and neurobiology, incorporating elements of psychodynamic theory, IFS, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, as well as DBT and CBT methodologies. Besides her practice, Sarah also offers clinical consultation and supervision and holds faculty positions at the BU School of Social Work and Harvard Medical School. Her clients often find themselves more attuned to their strengths, empowered to pursue their goals, and experiencing a greater sense of well-being throughout their therapeutic journeys.
