Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Food Program in Salem, MA, is dedicated to fostering healthy food habits among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, along with infants and children up to five years old. We provide essential services such as nutrition and education counseling tailored specifically for women and their families, breastfeeding support including guidance, educational materials, and necessary supplies like breast pumps. With our program, families receive a debit card to purchase nutritious foods including milk, whole grains, beans, cereals, and fresh fruits and vegetables, with personalized food packages designed to meet their unique needs. Additionally, we connect families to vital community resources, including SNAP, housing assistance, daycare, dental care, clothing, and fuel assistance. If you are receiving TAFDC, SNAP, or MassHealth, you are automatically eligible for WIC, ensuring that foster children under the age of five can also access our vital services.
