Linda Marks

Clinical Supervision And Licensed Supervisors

Newton, MA US
Linda Marks embraces the transformative power of the heart, recognizing its electrical field to be 60 times more powerful than the brain's magnetic field by 5000 times. She understands that when hearts are wounded by trauma, neglect, or deprivation, individuals often feel disconnected from their inherent strength, leading to challenges like depression, anxiety, fear of intimacy, and feelings of being stuck. Building on a foundation of emotional safety, Linda incorporates meditation, emotional awareness, body sensations, and consensual touch into her practice to facilitate meaningful emotional work. Her clients experience gains in self-esteem, self-care, reduced stress, authentic communication, healthier relationships, empowerment, and healing. Specializing in intimacy and sexuality, financial issues, parenting, and support for the GLBTP community, she provides impactful life coaching and emotional support tailored for creative artists. Understanding that much of human experience is non-verbal, Linda employs body psychotherapy to access deeper layers of experience that transcend words, addressing the heart of personal matters. She believes that what calls for attention both physically and emotionally deserves thoughtful exploration, encouraging all individuals to listen to their bodies and follow their hearts. A pioneer in her field, Linda co-founded the first state body psychotherapy professional association in 1988, contributed to the field with two published books and numerous articles, and has trained body psychotherapists through an apprenticeship model. A professional musician and singer/songwriter with six albums, she champions the idea that healthcare should be accessible for everyone.
