Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program in Mattapan, MA, is a dedicated initiative supporting families by offering free nutrition and health education, healthy food, breastfeeding support, and vital referrals to healthcare and additional services. Our mission is to ensure that pregnant and breastfeeding women, along with children under the age of five, maintain their health and wellbeing. Whether you are employed, unemployed, married, or single, if you are a parent, grandparent, foster parent, or legal guardian of a child under 5, you can apply for WIC services. We provide personalized nutrition consultations, access to nutritious food, breastfeeding education, and connections to medical care, health insurance, child care, and housing assistance. WIC also fosters community among caregivers, encouraging discussions around nutrition and health topics that matter. Eligibility is straightforward—if you receive TAFDC, SNAP, or MassHealth Standard (Medicaid), you are automatically eligible, as are foster children under 5. We warmly welcome fathers, grandparents, and all guardians to be actively involved in their children’s health journeys with WIC.
