Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program in Jamaica Plain, MA, is dedicated to fostering the health and well-being of pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as children under five, by offering essential food assistance, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and comprehensive health referrals, all at no cost for qualifying Massachusetts families. WIC serves a diverse community, welcoming parents, grandparents, and guardians whether they are working, single, married, or fostering, making it easy to apply for support. Our program provides personalized nutrition consultations, access to healthy food, education on breastfeeding, and connections to vital services such as medical and dental care, child care, and housing assistance. We understand the important role that all caregivers play, and we encourage fathers, stepparents, and other guardians to participate by attending workshops and bringing their children to appointments. With additional benefits for families enrolled in TAFDC, SNAP, or MassHealth Standard, WIC strives to create a supportive environment where families can thrive together, enhancing their food security and overall health.
