Located in Jamaica Plain, MA, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Food Program is dedicated to fostering healthy nutrition for low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. Our mission is to support families by offering tailored nutrition and education counseling, breastfeeding guidance, and essential supplies like breast pumps. WIC participants receive a debit card to purchase nutritious foods, including milk, whole grains, beans, cereal, and fresh fruits and vegetables, with our counselors helping to create personalized food packages for each family. We also provide valuable referrals to additional community resources, including SNAP, housing assistance, daycare, dental care, and more. Families receiving TAFDC, SNAP, or MassHealth are automatically income eligible, ensuring access to vital support for those in need, including foster children under age five.
