Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program in Dorchester Center, MA, is dedicated to fostering healthy food habits for low-income pregnant and postpartum women, along with infants and children up to five years old. We provide essential services including personalized nutrition and education counseling tailored to the needs of women and families, comprehensive breastfeeding support with guidance and educational materials, as well as access to breastfeeding supplies like breast pumps. Participants receive a debit card for purchasing nutritious foods such as milk, whole grains, beans, cereals, and fresh fruits and vegetables, allowing our counselors to help create customized food packages for optimal health. Additionally, we connect families with vital community resources including SNAP, housing, daycare, dental care, clothing, and fuel assistance. If you are receiving TAFDC, SNAP, or MassHealth, you are automatically eligible for WIC, ensuring that even foster children under age five can benefit from this essential support system.
