Jean Lukens

Jean Lukens is a skilled Clinical Social Worker and Therapist with a passion for facilitating meaningful conversations about feelings and perceptions. Clients who work with her are encouraged to stay with their emotions and truths, exploring their inner leadings within a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. Jean understands that therapy can sometimes be deeply sobering, but she believes in the profound joy and vitality that can emerge as illusions dissolve and clarity is attained. Her approach is rooted in creating a warm, accepting environment that fosters confidence and exploration of personal concerns. With a diverse practice that incorporates relational psychoanalytic therapy, Buddhist mindfulness practices, neurofeedback, family systems theory, and Somatic Experiencing, Jean has honed her focus on the effects of trauma and stress, which often manifest as anxiety, depression, fragile self-esteem, or relationship conflicts. She limits her practice to adults and couples, ensuring a tailored therapeutic experience. As a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, Jean also provides professional supervision, having guided graduate interns from respected institutions such as Connecticut School of Social Work, Boston University, and Smith College School for Social Work.
