Food for Families / Food for Seniors, part of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans, is dedicated to combating food insecurity in Port Allen, LA by providing essential food assistance to eligible seniors. Through our monthly nutritional food boxes, we not only deliver nourishing staple items such as canned meats, nutritious vegetables, fruits, and breakfast cereals, but also empower seniors with valuable nutrition education. Our program includes easy-to-follow recipes and practical tips to help participants maintain a healthy diet while maximizing their food budgets. Each food box is thoughtfully curated to ensure seniors receive a balance of proteins, grains, and dairy, enhancing their overall well-being. Joining our initiative is simple; interested seniors can complete the Preliminary Certification application form to access these vital resources and support.
