Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Port Allen, LA US
Located in Port Allen, LA, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating a more equitable, sustainable food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. By sponsoring and training passionate Fellows, we empower them to become advocates and educators in their communities. Our no-cost program prioritizes accessibility, offering comprehensive education in organic farming and food systems. Through hands-on experiences on a market-style farm, Fellows engage in diverse initiatives including growing and distributing crops, managing school and community gardens, and implementing health-focused educational sessions. Participants also mentor future Fellows and foster local food access through farmers markets and community coalitions. Spanning six months of immersive training followed by a year of impactful community action, this fellowship is not just about learning but also about effecting positive change in the food landscape of Louisiana and beyond. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically running from May to October.
