Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) in New Orleans, LA, is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, along with infants and children up to five years old. As a Special Supplemental Nutrition Program, WIC provides essential services such as breastfeeding support, access to breast pumps (when available), and monthly vouchers for nutritious foods. Additionally, we connect families to vital health and social services, including Medicaid, food assistance programs like SNAP, TANF, LaCHIP, and Healthy Start. Our goal is to empower families with health and nutrition education to foster a healthier future for children. Individuals eligible for Medicaid or other assistance programs automatically meet our income requirements, and we welcome all caregivers of young children to apply for WIC.
