Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a vital program based in New Orleans, LA, dedicated to supporting low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old who are at nutritional risk. Our mission is to enhance the health and nutrition of these vulnerable populations by providing access to nutritious supplemental foods essential for growth and development, along with comprehensive nutrition education that fosters healthier eating habits. WIC also offers valuable information, support, and encouragement for breastfeeding mothers, and referrals to additional health services to ensure comprehensive care. If you participate in the Louisiana Medicaid Program, the SNAP (Food Stamp) Program, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), LA CHIP, or LA MOMS benefits, you are likely eligible for our services, which also extend to caregivers of young children. Together, we strive to create a healthier future for families in our community.
