Women, Infants, and Children Program (WIC)

The Louisiana Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program in New Iberia is dedicated to improving the health and nutrition of pregnant women, new mothers, and young children. Our mission is to ensure that low-income families have access to essential nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and nutritious food through the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program. We provide vital resources that include nutrient-rich supplemental foods crucial for growth and development, as well as personalized nutrition counseling to help families develop healthier eating habits. WIC is here to empower families by offering information and encouragement for breastfeeding and facilitating referrals to additional health services. To participate, families must schedule an appointment at their preferred WIC clinic, where our friendly staff will assist with eligibility determination and guide them through necessary documentation.
