The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Many, LA, is dedicated to nurturing and empowering the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Through comprehensive training and hands-on experiences at our Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, we provide Fellows with the essential education on organic food systems, without tuition fees to ensure accessibility. Our program equips participants to engage with diverse communities, grow and distribute crops, implement innovative health-focused educational sessions, maintain school and community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy. Additionally, Fellows will support farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives while developing distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods. Over the course of this transformative six-month experience, Fellows will collaborate with regional non-profit organizations during their Community Action Year, applying their knowledge and skills to make a meaningful impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the Fellowship typically running from May to October.
