Located in Mandeville, LA, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to fostering a just food system that champions social, environmental, and economic equity. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this Fellowship provides an empowering experience for selected individuals who will undergo comprehensive organic food system education. Our aim is to make this transformative program accessible, with no tuition fees required. Over a six-month residential period at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in hands-on learning and community partnerships where they will grow and distribute diversified crops, implement health education sessions, maintain gardens, promote food literacy in schools, support farmers markets, and develop channels for broader access to healthy foods. The Fellowship culminates in a Community Action Year where Fellows apply their skills in collaboration with regional non-profits to advocate for sustainable food initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year for the program running from May through October.
