The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Luling, LA, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. This innovative program offers hands-on education in organic farming and food systems without tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Fellows engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops on market-style farms, implementing educational sessions for health care, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in local schools. The Fellowship not only supports the establishment of farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs but also develops distribution channels to increase access to healthy foods across the region. Selected Fellows participate in a six-month experiential training at our farm, followed by a Community Action Year, where they apply their knowledge by partnering with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March each year for an enriching experience that runs from May to October.
