The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Leesville, LA, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of food system advocates through hands-on education and community engagement. Our program sponsors and empowers Fellows to design and advocate for a food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental health, and economic sustainability. During the six-month immersive residency at our Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, participants gain knowledge in organic food systems while actively contributing to projects that range from managing market-style farms to enhancing food and ecological literacy in local schools. By the end of the program, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year, applying their skills in partnership with regional non-profits to enhance food access and support community food initiatives. With no tuition costs, we strive to make this transformative Fellowship accessible to all aspiring changemakers dedicated to fostering equitable food systems.
