Women Infants and Children (WIC)

In La Place, LA, the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Food Program is dedicated to fostering healthy nutrition habits among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. WIC provides access to nutrient-rich supplemental foods essential for growth and development, comprehensive nutrition education aimed at enhancing dietary and health practices, support and resources for breastfeeding, and referrals to vital health services. If you are enrolled in the Louisiana Medicaid Program, SNAP (Food Stamp), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), LA CHIP, or LA MOMS, you likely meet the eligibility criteria for our program. Additionally, caregivers of young children can participate in our services. WIC offers a variety of programs throughout the week to accommodate different schedules, ensuring that families have accessible support and guidance for their nutritional needs.
