Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Jeanerette, LA, is dedicated to cultivating knowledgeable and passionate advocates for just and sustainable food systems. This empowering program enables selected Fellows to engage in six months of hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they will learn organic farming techniques and food system education without the burden of tuition fees, promoting accessibility for all. After their intensive learning experience, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to implement their knowledge in practical settings. Participants will have the opportunity to grow and distribute diverse crops, contribute to educational health initiatives, maintain community and school gardens, and support local farmers markets. The Fellowship emphasizes the importance of food and ecological literacy, ensuring that each Fellow plays a vital role in enhancing community access to healthy foods. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October.
