The Ochsner Diabetes Management Program in Houma, LA, is committed to empowering individuals aged 18 and older who are managing type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or gestational diabetes. Accredited by the American Diabetes Association, our team of certified diabetes educators, composed of experienced nurses and registered dietitians, provides comprehensive education and support. Our interactive Basic Diabetes Group Classes, conducted in a single 5-hour session with provided lunch, cover essential topics such as blood sugar monitoring, medication management, and effective strategies for preventing and managing diabetes-related complications. We also focus on healthy eating, understanding food labels, exercise, and personalized goal setting.
