The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Homer, LA, fosters a new generation of advocates for a just food system by providing comprehensive training and hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture. This program empowers selected Fellows to engage in organic food system education while working collaboratively with local communities to grow and distribute a diverse range of crops. Through partnerships with non-profit organizations, Fellows implement innovative health education sessions, nurture school and community gardens, and promote food literacy in educational activities. The Fellowship not only supports farmers' markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, but also encourages the development of strategies to increase access to healthy food throughout the region. By participating in experiential learning at our farm campus and collaborating on community action projects, Fellows gain invaluable insights and skills to lead their communities toward sustainable food practices. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
