Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

Located in Gretna, LA, the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Food Program is dedicated to fostering healthy eating habits among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. WIC offers essential supplemental foods rich in vital nutrients for optimal growth and development, alongside comprehensive nutrition education tailored to enhance dietary choices and health practices. Our program emphasizes support for breastfeeding, providing guidance and encouragement to help mothers navigate this journey. Additionally, we connect families with necessary health services to ensure their overall well-being. If you’re enrolled in Louisiana Medicaid, the SNAP (Food Stamp) Program, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), or LA CHIP, you may already qualify for WIC. Caregivers of children aged five and under are also eligible.
