Dr. Julius Austin embodies a commitment to helping individuals gain freedom and responsibility in their choices. He empowers his clients to develop self-awareness and understand the interplay between themselves and their environments. By fostering an atmosphere of genuineness, trust, humor, respect, and spontaneity, Dr. Austin creates a counseling relationship that is both intimate and safe. Dr. Austin has earned an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Wyoming. Currently a Clinical Therapist and Adjunct Professor of Counseling in the New Orleans area, he draws upon his diverse clinical background, which includes community, inpatient, and collegiate mental health. His passion lies in working with individuals, couples, families, and groups facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, personality disorders, and life transitions.
