The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Gonzales, LA, is dedicated to empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our program, we sponsor and train Fellows to become knowledgeable leaders and educators in organic food systems while ensuring that tuition costs are covered to make participation accessible. Fellows engage in six months of immersive, hands-on learning at our renowned Allegheny Farm Campus, where they cultivate diversified crops, implement innovative health care education sessions, and support community initiatives such as school gardens and farmers markets. Following this experiential training, they enter a Community Action Year, allowing them to apply their skills in partnership with local non-profits to enhance community food access and promote food literacy. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October, making a meaningful impact in the community every step of the way.
