Food for Families and Food for Seniors, a program by Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans in Franklinton, LA, is dedicated to combating food insecurity among seniors by offering vital food assistance through monthly nutritional food boxes. Each box is thoughtfully packed with essential items such as canned meats, vegetables, fruits, breakfast cereals, shelf-stable milk, and more to ensure seniors receive the nutrition they need. Beyond food distribution, we empower our participants with nutrition education that includes easy-to-make recipes, tips for maximizing food dollars, and guidance on maintaining a healthy diet. Our comprehensive approach not only meets immediate needs but fosters long-term well-being for our senior community members.
