Food for Families / Food for Seniors

Located in Ferriday, LA, Food for Families / Food for Seniors, a vital program of Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO), is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to eligible seniors in our community. Each month, we deliver nutritional food boxes packed with wholesome items such as canned meats, vegetables, fruits, breakfast grains, American cheese, pasta or rice, shelf-stable milk, and nutritious snacks. Alongside our emergency food support, we aim to empower seniors with valuable nutrition education, offering guidance on healthy eating, easy-to-make recipes, and strategies to stretch their food budgets. Our commitment is to ensure seniors not only receive food assistance but also gain the knowledge to lead healthier lives.
