Food for Families / Food for Seniors, a program by Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO), is dedicated to providing essential food assistance to seniors in Duson, LA. Each month, eligible seniors receive carefully packed nutritional food boxes that include proteins like canned meat, a variety of vegetables and fruits, breakfast staples, and shelf-stable dairy products. Along with these vital supplies, we offer nutrition education that empowers our participants with knowledge about healthy eating, budgeting for food expenses, and easy-to-make recipes. Our mission is to ensure that seniors not only have access to emergency food but also the tools they need to maintain a healthy diet.
