Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Deridder, LA, offers a transformative opportunity for individuals passionate about creating a fair and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this program provides comprehensive training, enabling Fellows to become advocates and educators focused on social, environmental, and economic justice in food production. With no tuition fees, the Fellowship promotes accessibility and engagement in organic food system education, empowering participants to work alongside local partners to cultivate diverse crops, establish community gardens, and foster food literacy. Throughout their six-month experiential residency at Allegheny Farm, Fellows gain hands-on experience, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their skills with regional non-profit organizations.
