The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Chalmette, LA, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders who advocate for a just and sustainable food system. This inspiring program offers aspiring Fellows an immersive experience focused on organic food system education, empowering them to promote social, environmental, and economic justice within their communities. Through hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants engage in pivotal activities such as growing and distributing diversified crops, leading innovative health care education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in school programs. With no tuition fees, our Fellowship ensures accessibility for all dedicated individuals. Selected Fellows invest six months on the farm, followed by a year of community action, partnering with local non-profits to ensure increased access to healthy foods and support for farmers markets and community food coalitions. Applications are accepted until March, with the Fellowship running from May to October.
